For those of you who haven't heard much about Wayne Brady hears a heads up. He is one of the hosts of the hugely popular 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' Wayne's USP is improvisation comedy - you give him a word unheard of, a movie name, any random scenario and he creates an act for you right there which will leave you in fits of laughter.
Me and my friend reached the venue at 7 PM. We were first treated with cocktails and juices, accompanied by an array of delectable snacks ranging from paneer tikkas to mushroom snackers and more. At around 8 PM, the Black Dog Comedy Evening started. It was hosted by the popular and beautiful Channel [V] VJ 'Lola Kutty'. Their was a cameo by relatively unknown but very talented Siddharth who entertained us with his jokes on Tiger Woods, Women & GPS, and the 'Chai'sutra (the national drink of India - Chai).
Wayne Brady started with a bang - an R&B song which he created at that moment itself from the random words that public threw at him. Wayne was joined by his buddies Jonathan Magnum and Cat Gray. Together they performed many impromptu acts - enacting a scene in different movie styles that the audience gave to them - ranging from Scarface to Shakespeare, to Jurassic Park. Another one involved volunteers enacting sound effects of Jonathon and Wayne Brady as they churned out funny acts that left the audience holding their tummies. The event ended with another impromptu song created from words that had never been used in songs so far - Delhi Belly, I need to go to the loo, etc.
The Black Dog Comedy Evening of Wayne Brady left all of us spellbound and all were asking for another act from the trio but alas the event had ended and it was time to head home.
