The event started with the teen heart throb Jay Sean performing some of his biggest hits to an audience of over 10,000 crazy fans who were screaming at the top of their voices and were singing along with him as most of them knew the songs by heart. The most popular of the songs that Jay Sean sang was of course his cult hit 'Do You Remember' which made the entire crowd go crazy with excitement and the amazing chorus was bringing down the roof of the entire place down!
After Jay Sean was done enthralling the audience, veteran Indian captain and ace commentator Ravi Shastri came on to the stage to officially declare open the Champions League Twenty 20 cricket tournament featuring 10 best club teams from across the world including 4 IPL teams. Before inviting the captains on the stage to have a chit chat, Shastri requested everyone to maintain 1 min of silence as a mark of respect to veteran Indian captain Pataudi who had passed away that day. He invited all the captains of the 10 competing teams in the CLT20 tournament but the loudest cheers were reserved for the local team Royal Challengers Bangalore's captain Vettori and of course the World Cup winning captain and Chennai Super Kings' captain MS Dhoni! All the captains signed a pledge of playing the game in a fair way.
