Vladivar mixology event with flair bartender Ami Shroff & DJ Ryan Beck
I arrived early at Geoffrey's pub in Royal Orchid, Bangalore. Ami Shroff cordially received me with a smile on her face and asked me whether it was my first time bar-tending. I said yes. She asked me not to worry and immediately made me feel comfortable inside the bar by telling me about the different places where they keep their ingredients, the different spirits and asked me which was my favorite drink to make. I said Screw Driver so she said let's make it!
For Ami's version of Screw Driver, we took a tall glass and added 60ml of Vladivar vodka Orange flavor, 60 ml of Vladivar vodka Pineapple flavor, 60ml of Orange Juice, 60ml of Pineapple Juice, squeezed lime juice and topped it off with ice. We took this mixture and gave it a real good shake in the cocktail mixer. We served it with few lemon pieces. My friends Vinay and Vijetha who were taking our pictures while bar-tending had a sip and they really loved the refreshing taste of the Screw Driver!
Ami Shroff then told us about a very interesting cocktail called the Caipiroska which is a popular cocktail in Brazil and Argentina. To make it, I took 60 ml of Vladivar Orange vodka, 1/2 lime cut into wedges, 3 teaspoons brown sugar and crushed ice. Once I had all these ingredients, I mixed them in the cocktail mixer glass by giving it few good shakes. I served it with mint leaves and lemon wedges to my friend Ashish Parmar and he really loved the good blend of Vladivar and other ingredients.
My friend Vijetha also wanted to try her hand at making the cocktails in the Vladivar Mixology event and Ami Shroff was more than happy to teach! Vijetha said she liked martinis so Ami taught her to make Vodka martini. She put 60 ml of Vladivar Orange vodka, dry vermouth and ice in a cocktail shaker and asked Vijetha to give it a good shake. Vijetha was really happy to play the bar-tender after swooning over how many bartenders make their drinks behind the bar. She added her own twist to the Martini by garnishing it with an olive and a strip of lemon peel squeezed. Vinay and me had a taste of this Martini and were blown away by the near perfect cocktail that Vijetha churned out!
After thanking Ami Shroff for teaching us wonderful cocktails using Vladivar vodka, we started partying to the amazing Euro Trance and Progressive House music by DJ Ryan Beck from Bombay. His tunes set the dance floor on fire and the hip and happening crowd of Bangalore grooved to his tunes. It was a wonderful mixture of spirits and music which lift up the mood of the party goers after a long hard day at work!
