Soon the focus shifted from the match at Kaloor to the venue of the Signature After Match Party bash, the first of its kind at Le Meridien, Kochi. The convention centre, all decked up for the occasion wore a festive atmosphere. The rich and the influential, the who's who of Kochi, the commercial capital of Kerala were out in numbers gracing the occasion.
The players joined in soon after their changeovers, AB and Johanne Van der Waath being the first. Virat Kohli and a few other RCB loyals turned up and were seated at the Lounge. They also obliged to the occasional request for photographs and were seen, enjoying a drink or two. Siddharth Mallya and Anil Kumble were next to join in the RCB family and not too long into this, the floor was set for the man himself - the king of good times Dr.Vijay Mallya who received the loudest cheer from the over 500 strong audience, upon arrival.
The Signature Bold & Beautiful fashion Show by Manoviraj Khosla, by now a famous brand in the Couture circles, commenced soon afterwards. The show had its main emphasis on the Spring 2010 and 2011 collections under the same name along with the contemporary Indian Couture to top it up. Stars such as Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers as well as Sidhartha Mallya too showcased their ramp walking skills and pulled off what was an amazing session on the ramp.
DJ Mark and Russell kept the mood going and things were just getting started. The much famed White Mischief Gals set the stage ablaze with a performance that we all associate them with, over the past couple of years. Team Kochi though, was conspicuous by the absence of almost all of its stars except for their bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and players Brad Hodge, Brendon McCullum and Owais Shah who showed up quite late, almost at the fag end of the show.
Television icon Ranjini Haridas, Malayalam actors Rima Kallingal, Sidhdharthan and Vinu Mohan turned up but were seen to be quite disappointed, obviously with the Kochi loss. The Signature After Match Party wound up at 0230 with the stars returning to their hotel rooms, to catch up with some valuable rest looking ahead into the long season that awaits them.
