Perks of Hosting a Karaoke House Party
Ah, Karaoke. That revered Japanese tradition passed on to the rest of the world. "Karaoke" is a combination of two Japanese words, “kara” meaning alcohol and “oke” meaning people who can't sing.
A lot of people are unsure how they feel about attending or hosting a Karaoke house party. For all those people fence-sitting on the life-and-death matter of a Karaoke do, here’s a list to help convince you of the magical wonders and good times that a bunch of friends singing tunelessly at the top of their voices can create.
With Karaoke, it doesn’t matter how bad you are. There’s always someone way worse than you who doesn’t know it yet.
For those 4 minutes when you’re singing Karaoke, you’re Mick Jagger, or Freddie Mercury, or whoever you want to be.
You’re never too drunk to make a fool of yourself, are you? On a completely unrelated note, there’s never too much alcohol at a Karaoke party.
You’ll probably see a side of your friends you’ve never seen before. Mr. ToughGuy McMetalhead will probably let his guard (and his hair) down, and churn out a heart-melting version of “Desperado”.
Your song choice is a perfect way to communicate what you’re feeling. Maybe you have a secret crush on a friend. Look her in the eye while you’re singing. And pick one of those mushy, romantic songs (not!) - ‘Baby Got Back’ or ‘Tubthumping'
A Karaoke House party is like a group therapy session. You come together and vent out your feelings. Angry? Depressed? Upset? There’s a song prescribed. And just like in group therapy, nobody’s judging each other. Unless of course, you pick something by Nickelback or Creed.
Most importantly though, Karaoke is fun! It’s fun to get together at home with your friends, to sing together and celebrate life! So go ahead, call your friends over, and sing up a storm, but always remember to Live Responsibly!
