Black Dog’s ‘Great Comedy for a Great Cause with Papa CJ’ started with an hour of pre-party. The bar was super busy as people prepared to face Papa CJ. A few drinks before his show is always a GREAT idea. As I walked in, I quickly made myself pretty comfortable in the second last row and trust me I had a greaaat time. Thank you SpiritzandMore. The show started with a bang with Mr. Raghav Mandava, who has dropped journalism to be a comedian. He has definitely made a good career choice because his jokes were fresh and spontaneous too. He definitely has a long way to go. His answer to the controversial question “Whose better at driving – men or women?” was so witty. “WOMEN make the MOST mistakes. MEN make the BIGGEST mistakes.” He used the 15 minute space very effectively and we would love to see more of him in Pune. As CJ walked towards the stage, there was an air of excited anticipation. But I knew one thing, it was the time for the front row audience to fasten their seat belts. Papa CJ was brilliant. I don’t think there was even one awkward second where his joke didn't work. His jokes and timing were beyond perfection. Also, I think Pune is one of the cities where the crowd is extremely sporting. My heart goes out to Sanjay (A front row guest who was the butt of all jokes this time). The interaction level was extremely good this time. As I’ve already said before, Papa CJ is unapologetic. He doesn’t leave anyone. Whether you’re the co-host of the event, organizer of the event or the GM of the hotel, nothing stops him and I absolutely love that about him. My heart skipped a beat when he was almost about to attack the back benchers. But luckily me and my friends were not targeted. His bit about Formula One driver Michael Schumacher against Delhi drivers was hilarious too. Married couples were a great target for his questionnaire session. It was hilarious. I wish I could scoop some details out but they are extremely x-rated. Actually all his jokes were. My mouth is zipped. So to get more details about his jokes please buy a ticket and experience it live. I’m sure you will have an amazing comedy night! He ended the show with his popular closing line,“I come from the land of Kamasutra, I can s**** you in more ways than you can count.” After the show, me and my friends walked out completely satisfied in terms of the comedy appetite. Papa CJ has definitely won me over and gained a new fan. Don’t give a miss to any of Papa CJ’s shows in your city.
