Exciting Games For Your Diwali Party

Diwali is just round the corner, and most of you will decide to invite your buddies for a Diwali party. Drinks: check, delectable munchies: check, Diwali playlist: check, but something is amiss.  Given the day and age, hosting a simple Diwali dinner just doesn't cut it anymore where people are either crowding over a plate of chips or huddling around a makeshift bar.  Allow us to introduce you to some interesting party games that will jazz up your hosting abilities at your Diwali party.

Here is the low-down:

Drink or Dare- Don’t we all love a hilarious challenge or a little secret? Let's give it a twist and play 'Drink or Dare' instead this Diwali. If you have spare miniature bottles, fill them with preferable drinks. Set a timer and start passing the bottle. If it stops in front of you, gulp it down. If you don't, then you do a dare. From dancing on the table to lighting up some firecrackers, and not just the simple kind. Instant way to keep party alive, eh?

Dumb Charades- Who says Dumb Charades is for college kids? When it comes to Dumb Charades, age truly is just a number. There is nothing like playing a game of Dumb Charades to brighten up a dull party. Include names from old Bollywood hits and see how everyone keeps guessing.

Ethnic Dress Competition- Festivals are the time to dress to the hilt and prance around around in your ethnic best. How about getting your desi mode on and showcasing your personal style this Diwali? Create a make shift ramp and let your guests strut in their ethnic best.

Antakshari (Desi Sing-along)- We Indians just love our music. Our movies are not complete without a song and dance sequence, and we all have grown up playing Antakshari. No party is complete without a game of song. Host a game of Antakashari and see your guests reminiscing their childhood.

Never Have I Ever- Now, no party is complete without a drink or two. A good drinking game instantly perks up any party. And, this one has all the potential to grab eyeballs.  Everyone sits in a group with their respective Whiskey shot and one by one each person says an embarrassing thing they haven't done. You begin by saying "Never have I ever done... " If someone has done it, they gulp down their shot. Easiest way to get people drunk and get their secrets out of closet.  "Never have I ever went on a blind date, had a shot for breakfast...." You get the drift.
