World T20 Is Back!

It?s the season for T20 again! After the successful ICC World Twenty20 2013, the series is back with the fifth edition and is all set to bring back glam and glitz to the cricketing world. The 2014 edition of the pulsating tournament will be held in Bangladesh. While fans with cricket in their blood are most likely to travel to the neighbouring country, surely a large number of fans will miss supporting India in the stadium. Let?s take a look at a few places in Bangalore that will be screening the matches this season.

Who doesn?t like sipping a good cocktail or a drink of their choice while rooting for their favourite team? There are plenty of places  that provide the best of both worlds. Prost Brew Pub in Koramangala being one of them. ?We, at Prost, screen T20 matches every year. The Plasma TVs on every floor will be playing matches during the season,? said Rakesh, the manager. T20 screenings attract more crowds than usual in pubs, especially on weekends. ?Everybody likes T20. The extension of timings to 1 AM on weekends will be a boon since some of the matches will go on till late,? he added.

Some of the places are not so sure about the amount of crowd it would attract - Cirrus in Indiranagar, for instance. ?Initially it did attract some crowd. But we are not sure how big a difference it?ll make this season,? said Raymond Vishal from Cirrus.

Places like Hard Rock Cafe (MG Road), Xtreme Sports Bar, Enigma (Koramangala) and Cloud Bar (Lavelle Road) have screened World T20 matches during previous seasons too. Ion Bar and Kitchen (Lavelle Road) had screened the matches on projectors too. The Biere Club (Lavelle Road) and Jimi?s Beer Cafe (Brigade Image Courtesy-sports.ndtv.com

Road) screen the matches on their 42? Plasma TVs. The special attraction will be the happyhours and special offers that these places come up with. The manager of Oye Amritsar, which has screened the matches on projectors during previous seasons, said ?There will be special offers for sure, but we haven?t decided on it yet?.

Although it?s a bit early to decide on the offers, they plan to come up something better and bigger this year. ?Last year we had team shooters. We want to have more offers this season,?   said Rakesh from Prost.
