This little nondescript pub in Bandra West has a fan following that threatens almost all other pubs in its vicinity. Started in 1992, it is so popular that it has become a part of the city?s sights and sounds for tourists. When you first look at the entrance you would not expect it to be very hospitable. But what draws the never-ending crowd? Inside, at the bar is the shell of an iconic Beetle, stripped of everything; it hangs from the ceiling with stands for glasses and bright neon lights fitted along the edges. This eye-catcher makes the bar unique, a point of focus and maybe even an ice-breaker. The bartenders wear neon orange jumpsuits and are rather friendly. Hubcaps line the walls along with some other memorabilia of a bygone era. With alcohol priced at an average rate, most patrons drink lager though other cocktails and drinks are available. Atul, the manager says that they play hard rock keeping in mind the theme of the bar. ?We have regular beer along with other cocktails,? he adds. Foodies will not be disappointed. Among the favourites are Salt and Pepper Paneer, Pork Sausages, Paneer Chilly and Chicken Sausages in Brown Mushroom Sauce. These lip-smacking options are sure to woo first timers and make them regulars in an already overcrowded place. The regular crowd is varied. From young college students hanging out to 50 year olds who have made it a sort of tradition to be here every day. In fact, if the legal drinking age was reduced you would even see school kids whiling away their time here because of the quirky ambience. If you?re looking for a place to sit and enjoy a quite drink this is definitely not for you. But if you want to spend the evening roaring in revelry you?re in for a treat.
