Express Lunches for Time Crunches @ Le Belvedere, Le Meridien
Most people wouldn't mind admitting that they can be found eating the same old "junk" at their office desk or unwillingly preparing a salad or ordering a pizza or something that they are really not meant to be eating.
Don't you worry! I too am guilty of that. However, that is now about to change for good. This summer, elevate your afternoons with "Express Lunch" at Le Belvedere. A specially crafted spread of oriental cuisine consisting of scrumptious appetisers, main course and desserts to allure your senses. Experience the lively afternoons like never before.
Le Belvedere is Le Meridien's chic Chinese restaurant and it also happens to be the capital’s highest rooftop dining venue. It is located on the 20th floor of this posh Delhi hotel and has the best panoramic view of Lutyens' Delhi. As you let your taste buds indulge in ambrosial Cantonese and Sichuan treats, let you eyes enjoy a breathtaking view of Delhi's iconic structures like India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, The Lotus Temple, etc.
Mr. Gagan Malik who has been with the restaurant from ever since it first opened its doors, says he has experienced the changing seasons at Le Belvedere. He can look at the beautiful flowers in this lush green part of Delhi and can tell what time of the year it is.
The idea of "Express Lunch" is to ensure that people in a rush get to eat a hearty meal as quick as possible whist enjoying the beautiful view. This is quite a de-stressing experience. The restaurant has an elaborate fare for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
The meal began with a Gordon's infused Martini, perfect for hot summer afternoons. Then came Dim Sum, Spring Rolls, Chicken Salt n Pepper. The meal can be paid for immediately so you do not have to wait to pay after you have finished dining and be late for work.
The soup course consists of Wonton Soup that comes highly recommended by the Chef. The Black Pepper Chicken has a history of its on and has been on the menu forever. Paired with a Smirnoff Vodka Tonic and Hakka Noodles, this dish was outstandingly flavoursome.
The restaurant serves some of the freshest Stir Fried Green as a part of the express lunch menu. The meal ends on a deliciously sweet note with some Date Pancakes & Ice Cream.
With a mix of grand ornate and chic surroundings, it’s hard to not be intrigued by this beautiful hotel. The decor instantly woos you with its eclectic treasures and intricate chandeliers adorning ceilings.
Hues of deep blue, shiny tiles, and curious black and white figurines make this place feel like you’re a world away from home.
