Of all the area in the National Capital Region, South Delhi has the most important historical significance. Unsurprisingly, the area is also one of Delhi?s most affluent and has a number of upscale areas such as Greater Kailash, Hauz Khas, and Vasant Kunj, many of which are now hubs for designer boutiques, and high-end restaurants and hotels. It is also a major hotspot for the city?s couples with many a romantic dinner taking place at one of the many rooftop restaurants that dot the cityscape. We have compiled a list of some of the more popular rooftop restaurants in South Delhi.
The Barrel House ? Café 27

The Barrel House exudes a certain charm about it, as soon as you step in, welcomed by its bright yellow staircase. The rooftop seating is definitely the USP of this café and it is not uncommon to see the tables occupied by throngs of lovey-dovey couples?of course, you can also come here for a quiet lunch with your own special someone. The cuisine is a mix of Standard North Indian and Chinese food, staple to so many Delhiites, but prepared well, without using too many spices. The Kebabs and Tikka Masalas are some of the choice dishes, although the dimsums and rolls are not that bad either. They also have a nice list of common cocktails and mocktails, all affordably priced. Definitely a nice place to visit if you want a cosy rooftop dining experience, while making sure your wallet does not take too hard a pinch.
Out of the Box

Located in the swanky Hauz Khas area of South Delhi, Out of the Box tries its best to live up the moniker-like name, by incorporating some quirky décor and off-beat menu items. Although they focus on providing funky sounding American and European cuisine dishes, they also have a nice variety of Indian and Chinese dishes to choose from. Of course, the big draw is the stellar outdoor, rooftop seating, which provides patrons with a fantastic view of South Delhi cityscape. The menu has some tasty-sounding dishes including hot dogs, burgers, nachos, enchiladas and even some curiously named Jamaican Jerk Chicken.

Like the other establishments in this list, Mia Bella provides its patrons with an exemplar view of the South Delhi cityscape. Besides serving a healthy mix of International cuisines such as African, Italian, Lebanese and American, the place plays some cool music, making for some awesome ambiance, especially for those relaxing Sunday afternoon soirees with friends. Try some of their Peri Peri Chicken and NonVeg Mezze Platter as it is some of the best you will find in the city. Service is quick and the alcohol menu has all the premium domestic and international brands, including some smooth Signature Whisky. The collection of cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages is also quite good. All said and done, you will come for the unique ambiance and décor but you will stay for the wholesome food and drinks.
