We’re all looking forward to the New Year, the time for new beginnings. A time to erase the mistakes of past year and turn over a new leaf.
We definitely have a few resolutions in mind for 2016, to improve our lives in various spheres - from eating healthy and getting fit to travelling more or spending more time with family.
But one area which is often ignored when it comes to making resolutions is how we can enjoy our nights out a lot more, & how to improve our partying skills.
LiveInStyle.com has put together a list of suggestions for New Year Resolutions to improve your party life. Read ahead, you’ll know which ones apply to you.
Take less selfies:
One thing to definitely leave behind when the New Year arrives is our collective obsession with pictures in general, and selfies in particular. Sure, you can snap a few pictures during the party to remind you of what a good time you’re having. But if you spend the entire party pouting at your phone and snapping pictures, you’re missing out on all the fun you could be having. Put your phone away!
No drunk dialing:
While we’re on the topic of putting your phone away, nobody wants a phone call at 2 am telling them how much you love them. A text is no good either. And the less said about picture messages, the better. Save the phone calls for the morning after.
Learn/Invent a new cocktail recipe every month:
Sure, your staple drink, your poison of choice has its pride of place for a reason, but if you just stick with the same old boring Cuba Libre every party night, you’re missing out on a world of beautiful flavours. Explore the huge range of cocktails you could try, find a few suggestions here.
Discover new music:
Like the drinks, if you stick with the same boring playlist every time you throw a party, you’ll soon find your guests declining your invites and you won’t know why. Tune in to any number of internet radio stations, explore genres you like to find brand new music you just might grow to love!
Learn/Invent a new dance move:
Of course, with new music comes new dance moves. It doesn’t matter if you have two left feet, learn a few new simple dance moves to impress your friends, and if you’re feeling adventurous enough, why not try making up your own?
Leave the driving to the sober ones:
Not so much about adding life to your parties, more about staying safe - this one’s a no-brainer. A resolution you should have made years ago. If you haven’t already taken to pledge to avoid drinking and driving, do it now! Don’t even wait till 2016!
In the spirit of Smirnoff, unfake it, pick the resolutions that you think will help you party better in the New Year, in the spirit of and keep things fresh with new beginnings in 2016. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to Live Responsibly!
