New Year’s Eve Safety Tips
So, before you let alcohol take over your dear existence, we feel the urge to keep on stressing on the importance of how to Party Responsibly. With alcohol, your decisions tend to get compromised and your common sense suddenly goes AWOL on you. So before you hit new highs and lows with your friends and end up in an uncomfortable situation, in the spirit of McDowell’s Asli Yaari, we have culled out a few safety tips for you (it is not a government undertaking).
Let us start with mentioning one of the obvious facts: This world is awash with morons, and they never miss an opportunity to take advantage of your slightest ignorance. Having said that, you need to make sure that wherever you are, you DON’T SIT YOUR DRINK DOWN ANYWHERE. Many a times, people leave their drink and go wandering places to greet a new friend or visit the washroom. This gives an opportunity for the above mentioned blithering idiots to come and spike your drink. This could lead to extremely dangerous set of events and can turn your fun night into a nightmare.
We don’t need to reinstate the fact that driving is lethal with drinking. Make sure you have a designated driver who will drop you home once you have hit rock bottom. You may feel superhuman after three pegs (everyone does), but trust me you are wrong. If you don’t want to mess with the long arm of the law or meet with an accident, make sure you have a sober driver friend (everyone has one).
During New Year’s, you want to be a part of every happening gig in the city. You tend to reach new avenues and drink with tons of people whom you have never met before. In such situations, it is very necessary to be completely aware of your surroundings. Make sure you always have some company with you, and you always carry a communication device like a cell phone just in case things go south.
Certain things in life are better left to be done by the professionals. Do not get drunk and play with fireworks because it can lead to grave accidents. Just relax, unwind, and enjoy the fireworks on somebody else’s expense.
Especially for females, make sure you have sizeable number of friends with you before you enter any party. This New Year’s make sure you are always with a responsible set of friends, regardless of whether you are going for a house party, clubbing or even outside the city.
Pets are always paranoid of sudden loud noises. So make sure you pay extra attention to the fact that your pets don’t run away in panic. There are high chances of your pets getting hit by cars or getting lost.
