Ranveer & Arjun’s Bromance!

They didn’t start off on a good note, at least that is what the media reports claim. However, today the camaraderie between these two young lads of Bollywood is nothing less than that of the iconic onscreen friendship of Jai-Veeru from the film ‘Sholay’.

Launched by the prestigious Yashraj banner, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor did not see eye to eye, until much recently. The bone of contention supposedly being the gorgeous lady Anushka Sharma.  It is believed that Arjun Kapoor allegedly got too close to Ranveer Singh’s ex girl Anushka, which did not go well with the latter. To add fuel in the fire, Aditya Chopra, who once favored Ranveer, suddenly became too fond of Arjun, signing him for a couple of Yashraj films.

However, Yashraj films also played the catalyst in bringing this duo together by signing them for ‘Gunday.’ Once the boisterous actors started working together, all the hostility burned into thin air as they soon bonded over jokes and gym workouts. The on-screen dostana traversed into real life, and the affection between the two flourished so much that their relationship soon earned the tag – Bromance.

Whether it is referring to each other as Baba, making fun of each other or going overboard with their public display of affection – Arjun and Ranveer together are a delight to watch and can bring a house down on fire with their mischievousness.

Though like chalk and cheese, Arjun and Ranveer almost had an instant connect. “Hum ek dusre ko tabse jaante they jab humein koi nahi jaanta tha (We have know each other since the time when no one knew us). We were irrelevant to the media then. We talk about cars, football, and clothes. But generally we talk films because we both are inherently film lovers. In fact, the craft of acting is the biggest bonding factor for us,” Arjun spoke about his friendship in an interview.

Ranveer too has spoken with fondness about their bond, “Whenever we met socially, before we became actors, we kind of bonded. Whenever I danced at parties, Arjun would join me with equal intensity and dance alongside. We always talked about movies and filmmaking. We have so much common ground that we never run out of things to talk about. He is more reserved. I am comparatively more free-spirited.”

The duo understands each other so well today that they complete each other’s sentences, knows what the other likes and dislikes, and even can sense which girls interest the other at parties without having to actually voice it.

It’s very rare to see such sodality between two contemporaries in this industry, however the Arjun - Ranveer bond is indeed unique and testifies ‘asli yaari.’

Even co-star Priyanka Chopra once commented about their dosti, “It's amazing to see their friendship. I have done a lot of two-hero films and you can make out whether it's true friendship or just show off. These two are actually good friends which is nice to see.”

While the skeptics tagged the bond ‘temporary’ and even reported a rift between the two friends, stating that they refused to shoot for a TV commercial together - Ranveer and Arjun proved everyone wrong and went and in fact shot for the ad together in Romania.

“There was never any misunderstanding between the two. Yes they were supposed to shoot the ad earlier but their schedule got delayed as Arjun was busy with his film ‘Finding Fanny’, hence the shoot got postponed and everyone thought all is not well between Arjun and Ranveer,” said a source close to these B-town buddies.

Arjun and Ranveer posted mad selfies and pictures of each other on Twitter, which further attested the fact that all is well between the two pals. Ranveer posted a picture of Arjun stating, “Bucharest ka Badshah (sic)”, in another tweet, he wrote, “We went for an ‘evening walk’..I was admiring the beauty of Bucharest, while baba was admiring the beauties of Bucharest #badbaba @arjunk26 (sic)”

Laced with incessant goofiness and lots of love, Ranveer and Arjun’s ‘asli yaari’ is evidently here to stay forever.
