Who Said Resolutions Are Meant To Be Broken!

Previous Next

Every year we make our new year's resolution with great gusto. There is so much excitement and determination to see through but most of the time we set such an impossible wish list that it's difficult to follow through. Though most of these resolutions are well intended, we realize soon that some of these are worth breaking while giving you an option for an easier route to still full fill the dream.

Gyming - Every year we swear to ourselves to hit the gym, but if you approach it like something you must do and make it a chore, it's never going to happen. And that's why you should tone up the physical activity in your life with a little extra walking, climbing the stairs or some sport. But these are the last resorts for the lazy and unadventurous ones. What you truly want to do is push your strength in a manner that won't turn into something monotonous. As a guy, you want something that will test your entire body's strength limits. While Kickboxing is a great way to shape up, spicing things up a little has never harmed any one has it. Try your hands on Krav Maga (an Isreal combat mix of Muay Thi, Tai Chi, Judo, Street Fighting etc), fencing and some Bare Knuckle boxing . It helps you with the self defense undoubtedly, but it's also a great to way to shape up as well as acts as a stress buster. It's interesting and you won't end up skipping your sessions out of boredom, because most people who resolve to hit the gym everyday are the first ones to break their resolution.

No more Bottoms Up on a friday night - Giving up alcohol entirely is a task too great for many. In a fit of excitement many have been known to boldly claim that they will give up the habit and far less have been known to follow through. So, why go through the process of elimination entirely? Instead of resolving to abstain from alcohol, drop the every-weekend-drinking plan and allow yourself a peg or two occasionally. After all, less is more you know; plus this way you can enjoy what you sip. The smartest way is to avoid cocktails which are high in sugar and calories like the likes of pina colada and margaritas containing up to 700 kcal. It's easier to opt for a glass of red wine rather or any type of liquor on the rocks as it eliminates the carbonate sugar intense mixers. This way, your alcohol intake remains limited; at the same time you don't need to miss it tremendously and still enjoy the night out without being the odd one out with your friends.

Trance less, experience more – Who doesn't like put on the party hat and shake their legs all night long. It's an innate nature. We all love to unleash our inner party animal especially in an inebriated state. But may be it's time to change things up a bit. Remember that fear of water and heights you always used to have. Stop procrastinating and start conquering because there's no time like the present. From Bungee jump, para-glide, skydive and under water adventure, do it all. Pack your bags and head off to some place you've never been before. Take off your party shoes for awhile and strap on your adventure junkie jackets. After all, spontaneity is the main ingredient to a healthy, active and a more fulfilling life. And also because one day you will have some great stories to tell to the next generation.
