With most of us depending on our phones for everything from telling the time to finding out the latest cricket score, mobile devices have now become a lifestyle statement. But when you are in a new area and want to know the best Italian restaurant there, what do you do? Don’t worry there’s an app for that! Presenting a small list of lifestyle apps that make living in the city easier and more fun.

1. Foodspotting – This is great app with a neat UI. You can look for most recommended restaurants in your neighbourhood and also know what’s best on the menu. Craving for sushi? The apps tells you the best places for sushi based on your location. You can use the camera feature when you ‘spot’ a great dish or restaurant and recommend it to fellow foodies. (Available on Android, iPhone, Blackberry and Windows)

2.Nokia City Lens – This app is not too unfamiliar to the app mentioned earlier but along with restaurants you can explore by Shopping, Fun, Sights, Transportation and so on. The City Lens shows almost all the places in a 20 min time-frame when you point it in the proper direction. (Available exclusively on Windows)

3. RunKeeper – For the fitness freaks, this is a must have app. The app basically gives you the calories burnt, time spent and average speed of your activity. Activities include walking, jogging, cycling, hiking etc. According to the activity, you can select a workout plan or create a custom workout or just do it freestyle. The app enables you to find your friends who use the app and make it a more collaborative. (Available on Android and iPhone)

4. TuneIn Radio – TuneIn Radio makes it easier to listen to a diverse range of radio stations from around the world. You can sort by Local, Music genres, sports, trending, recommended etc. You can then bookmark you favourites and share your favourite stations through Twitter and Facebook. (Available on Android, iPhone, Blackberry and Windows)
