Shahrukh Khan isn’t new to huge crowds. His fans gather around to greet him no matter where he goes and when he goes. But the unprecedented crowd gathered at the Jemaa el-Fna Square, which is at the medina quarter at Marrakesh, Morocco, overwhelmed him as well. SRK was in the city to attend the Marrakesh Film Festival. The word got around that he would be walking down the red carpet and more than 50,000 locals gathered there in extremely cold weather to get a glimpse of the Indian star. Overwhelmed by this love, SRK left the red carpet and security, jumped on the podium to greet his fans.
Here is what SRK had to say, “I went to Marrakesh Film Festival because of the people there and their constant love I have got in all these years. I went there to tell them that I love them too and I am blessed to receive their love. The sight of that crowd at Jemaa el-Fna was very overwhelming. They waited to cheer me on, how could I not spend a little time with them. That’s the least I could have done.”
