How David Bowie’s bold moves helped Lady GaGa pave a whole new path…

Lady Gaga

From Katy Perry to Shah Rukh Khan, celebrities across the globe love Lady GaGa. SRK called her “very deep” after hours of conversation some years ago; coming away impressed with the music icon’s views on life and the world in general. For others — famous folk and fans alike — GaGa has been an inspiration and a true trailblazer; both personally and professionally. So who has paved the path for an artist who inspires so many others today?

Long before Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta became Lady GaGa, it was David Bowie who showed her that ‘different’ wasn’t ‘weird’ and that the expression of art has many forms. On the back of a lauded tribute to Bowie at this year’s Grammy Awards, GaGa is still gung ho about the debt of gratitude she owes the recently deceased legend. Responding to a question on how she feels now that her Grammy tribute is done, GaGa said, “How do I feel? I feel like my whole career is a tribute to David Bowie.”

Adding that his “art made him strong,” GaGa says Bowie’s bold moves paved the path for artists like her to express themselves fearlessly. More power to those who dare!
