This IPL season, you have decided to travel with your favorite team, cheer for them like a devoted fan is supposed to, right from the stadium. But before that comes the part most men dread i.e. packing suitcases. “What should I be packing? How much luggage should I actually lug around? Pick comfort over style?” these are some of the defiant questions you find cumbersome answering to because the only thing on your mind is the game. The following check list is here to help with your sartorial conundrums.

Carry basics: Carry a couple of T-shirts in solid colors. Pack a pair of jeans and khakis. One summer scarf is ideal. Pack a light denim shirt and one with plaids. These are absolute basics which can be used as building blocks to construct various looks by simply mixing a bunch of elements together. For example layer your sold T-shirt with the denim ones or simply wear the plaid t-shirt with a pair of jeans and throw on a hat.

Key Pieces: Once you have the basics in order, it would be a good idea to carry a couple of key pieces from your wardrobe. A well fitted summer blazer, a gauge cardigan, slim fit cotton blend shorts and your favorite handcrafted deck shoes to name a few. Mix these pieces with your basics for occasions, for instance an after party which requires you to be slightly more dressed up than what you would to wear to a game.

Happy Feet: Pack at least a dozen pair of socks. Clean socks are imperative to healthy feet. When you repeat your socks without washing them, it can give you severe feet cramps and can cause other unpleasant feet situations. You might not always have the time to give your clothes to the laundry man, so it is best you go armed with backup. Along with clean socks ensure you are carrying at-least one pair of comfortable shoes. In case you are carrying a new pair, ensure that it is already broken into.

Backpack: Carry a mid size rucksack with you that can be carried to the stadium. This will come in handy to keep your water bottles, phones, keys and other things you may have on you. Put everything inside the sack and concentrate on the game rather than worrying about losing them or leaving them behind. In a chaotic stadium finding lost items will definitely be next to impossible.

Toiletries kit: Hotels do provide heavenly smelling starter kits, but it is a good practice to carry your own stash. Carry shaving blades and foam, perfumes, deodorants, hand sanitizers, trimmers, nail fillers, body wash, shampoos, conditioners in traveler sizes and moisturizers as a bare minimum at least. If the hotel you are staying at does not stack up brands that are appealing enough, you will not have to run around the city looking for these basics.

Oddities: Carry activated charcoal soaps to deep cleanse your face after spending an entire day out in the sun, feet cushions to treat your tired and sore feet. Sunglasses and hats to protect you from the harsh UV rays along with sunscreen, an SPF 30 plus, handkerchiefs, small locks, adaptors and chargers are some of the other things you should be packing.
First aid: As inconsequential as this might seem, do pack a small first aid kit with dressing materials, antiseptic creams, strip of aspirins, band aids and other wound cleaning medications. Do not leave them behind in your hotel but carry them in your rucksack. These come-in handy at unexpected locations, especially where there is such a large crowd gathering.
