It's the New Year, a new beginning and about time to shed those pseudo attitudes and just be real. And there is no better way to start that off than to move the party to some of Bangalore's unshowy yet cool hangouts.
If you want to drop your inhibitions and just monkey around on a Saturday night, then drop in here and let the party animal in you take over. The food menu offers some interesting choice of finger foods from dabeli, vada pav to baos. Very strange and unlikely for pub food, but it’s worth a try. If the music catches your fancy, then just get up from your table and dance. Before you know it, you will be joined by fellow dancers like you.
A creaking staircase, posters of the Beatles and Pink Floyd adorn the plaster that is chipping off the walls. Pecos is an iconic establishment that has been around since forever and still maintains its old world charm. Definitely a far cry from all the swanky pubs that have tottered up in the city, but it’s still got its die hard patrons who swear by the cheap beer and complimentary popcorn.
Down the road and as contrasting as chalk and cheese from Pecos, is Tavern at the Inn. Although this place has a quaint British pub-like ambience, it doesn’t keep the stiff upper lip and entices its diners with its relaxed and cosy atmosphere. It’s a perfect place to sit and throw back a couple of beers after a hectic week at the office.
If your plan A is not to put on those high heels, fancy dresses and tons of makeup, then worry not because you always have a Plan B to go to. Head down here in shorts or pyjamas and spend a chilled out Saturday night chomping on their yummy burgers and chicken wings.
A no hang-ups, no-nonsense place, this is the best way to describe this establishment. Don't go there expecting fancy interiors or mind-blowing service, but what you can expect is some good, unpretentious classic rock and beer.
