It’s the season of sports! March madness is about to take on a full swing; in fact in some places it already has. The amount of elaborateness paraded in these sporting events for the next few months is a sight for the sore eyes and mind. That’s why the organisers and sponsors see March till September as the best time of the year to host such grand events.

So, here are a few eye catching sport fests you need to look out for:

1. Indian Premiere League: The mother of all events is about to take off next month. IPL just keeps getting bigger and better. This year, it’s going to be held in UAE, Bangladesh & India, a good news for all those fellow cricket fanatics who want to witness the live version of this madness yet feel apprehensive about travelling somewhere far too expensive. So pack up your bags because the first half is being hosted by UAE from 16th of April-30th April. The second half from 1st May- 12th May, if permission granted by the Indian authorities, will be held in India; if not, then Bangladesh will be hosting it. The remaining league matches will be hosted by India. So stay tuned for the 2nd half of the schedule and get ready for some crazy action of bat and ball laced with a little bit of Arabian nights.

2. FIFA World Cup: There is sports, and then there is football. Football isn’t merely a sport, it’s a religion. This year, FIFA will be hosted by none other than Brazil. This month long sporting event will take off on June 12 with the final match being held on July 13th. For all you football fanatics who plan on travelling all the way across from some corner of the world to be a part of this grand event, for the first time, matches will be held in 12 different cities. Which means not only would you get to be a part of a major sporting event, but you’ll get to experience the beauty called Brazil. Here’s a little hint: the landscapes of Rio De Janeiro, tall buildings of Sao Paulo & the scenic beach side of Salvador.

3. Major League Baseball: How much of a Baseball fan are you? If you are a cricket fanatic, you surely will enjoy this brother-from-another-mother sport called Baseball. Even if you’ve never watched or been to a game before, MLB will surely warm you up to the idea. The season takes off on 22nd March in Sydney, Australia. Why such a major American game being hosted in Australia? Let’s just say they wanted to bring a little American culture Down Under. The non-Australian, a.k.a North American, part of the season begins from 30th March and will continue till September 28th, 2014. So, if you wish to experience the live version of MLB, Sydney is the place to be. If you want to just lie back and enjoy a good game of Baseball, tune into ESPN.

4: FIL(Federation of International Lacrosse) World Championship: And then there are contact sports. For those who are hearing about Lacrosse for the first time, it’s a contact sport where 10 players from each team face each other off in a gruelling game of catching a rubber ball, with long stick with a net in the end, and literally throwing it inside the opponents goal. Another important sporting event in USA, Colorado is hosting this 9 day long World Cup from 10th July-19th July. The fastest and most dangerous sport on two feet, if you want to experience some scuffle and lots of thrill , this is the game one needs to experience at least once.
