But in this particular movie, the beauty of the island over shadowed him and everything else. Every backpacker yearned to visit these inaccessible parts of Thailand. The crystal blue waters, lush greenery and picture perfect beaches had backpackers and travelers from all across the world flocking to Thailand. If there was ever a moment you were lazy about your holiday planning this movie made you walk out of the theatre and book your ticket. In fact no other movie has manages to capture the natural beauty of Thailand or South East Asia quite like this movie did.

Mamma Mia - This happy go lucky musical with its star studded cast and Abba songs did more for Greek tourism than anything else. Amidst all the singing and dancing this musical showcases a cluster of Greek islands, beaches, food and even a peek at a Greek wedding! The rocky cliffs, bright blue Aegean Sea, the stark white houses and ample flowers throughout the movie will have you wishing you were on one of the islands relaxing and frolicking around with not a care in the world.

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty - If ever you thought your life was dull and drab, and you wanted to break the monotony and explore the world this movie will have you do just that. The story is of a regular Joe who suddenly finds himself on a journey across the world. From the gorgeous picturesque places he visits to the experiences he has, this movie will shake you up and make you want to make travel a priority. In fact it might even open up some unusual travel destinations, which you hadn’t anticipated earlier.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona - This particular movie will make you fall in love with Spain and particularly Barcelona. Two girls find themselves in this romantic yet gothic city and the movie takes you to little street cafes, beautiful architecture and even has you falling in love with the flamenco and the sultry Spanish guitar music. It highlights the life in quaint smaller Spanish towns and charms you with its rustic ambience, bicycle rides and local food. Everyone walked out of this film waiting to travel to Spain and fall in love with a Spaniard and live life in the vibrant city of Barcelona.

Under The Tuscan Sun - No film has captured the essence of Italy and Tuscany in particular quite like this movie has. In fact, post the movie there were a number of American expats who bought property and settled in Tuscany. The movie encouraged many travelers to visit the gorgeous Italian countryside. A bus tour through Italy, plucking grapes from a neighbors vineyard, buying a crumbling villa on a whim, this movie has all the ingredients for a magical Italian fairytale and has inspired many to venture out to Italy for an experience of their own.
