If you have the heat too high, you’ll burn the ingredients and your cocktails won’t be the same. Gently turn up the heat, gently being the key word, until the mixture thickens and darkens. Now you have a caramel. Pour the gin and your caramel into a good container, Mix it together, then split your vanilla pod and add that too. Freeze for 24 hours. When you look again, the butter would have hardened and separated from the gin. Pour your buttered gin into another container, and use a coffee filter as many times as you need to get rid of anything solid. You’re done! You can now serve over ice. If you like, you can also use rum to create a buttered rum cocktail, depending on your taste!
Italian Rum Punch
For a punch like you’ve never tasted before, the Italian rum punch is for you! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Pineapple juice.
- Orange juice.
- Whole lime.
Combine 1750 ml of disaronno with equal parts bacardi, then 2 quarts of pineapple juice and 1 quart orange. Squeeze around 5 fresh limes in, but add more if you like. Add ice and you’re done!
