Tom Hiddleston takes his pause by tuning out Twitter

Prepping for his 2015 film ‘I Saw The Light’ taught Tom Hiddleston how to really appreciate a fine bottle of whiskey. The star — who is perhaps best known for playing Loki in ‘Thor’ and ‘The Avengers’ — enjoys his hectic career and savours his pause when he can. But the solace of a swill isn’t the only thing that gives him peace.

Despite being one of the most in-demand actors in the world at the moment, Tom prefers to maintain a low profile and avoid distractions — like Twitter, for instance. In a recent interview with the ‘Daily Mirror’ newspaper, Tom confesses: “I don’t use it (Twitter) as much as I used to; to be honest there are a few trolls. It’s a distraction.” Suggesting that surfing the Internet eats up too much of people’s time, Tom explains that he’d rather use his precious spare hours for self-improvement. “I would rather think about something with more rigour and nuance and then put it in a piece of work,” he adds.

If staying away from social media brings him peace, we say take your pause your way. Considering Tom is hotly tipped to play James Bond when Daniel Craig finally hangs up his 007 boots, the pauses may well be harder to come by in the future!
