Meghan Trainor’s big bold move

Meghan Trainor

We were rah-rahing Meghan Trainor long before she had a Grammy, because we adore that she is “all about that bass” and has “all the right junk in all the right places.” Now, having heard this latest little nugget, we love her even more. Read on and you’re likely to share our enthusiasm for the singer, in light of her booty-ful bold move.

It seems the 22-year-old was shocked to see the promos of her latest music video (titled ‘Me Too’) because the final edit had been photoshopped excessively — to make her look much slimmer than she is. Now, in an age where everyone wants to be nipped and tucked (both physically and digitally), Meghan’s bold promise to bring “booty back” is a breath of fresh air. While fashion editors around the world are debating the unrealistic and dangerous standards of beauty we are setting for ourselves today, here’s a star who is putting her weight behind a path breaking cause — literally.

Speaking on Snapchat about why she withdrew the track after it was digitally modified, Meghan said: “Hey guys, I took down the ‘Me Too’ music video because they photoshopped the crap out of me and I’m so sick of it... So I took it down until they fix it. My waist is not that teeny. I had a bomb waist that night. I don’t know why they didn’t like my waist but I didn’t approve of that video and it went out for the world so I’m embarrassed.”

After cutting her team down to size on the subject, Meghan released the re-edited video on May 10. We’re yet to watch it, but we are super impressed already!
