George Clooney: As good as any stand-up comic!

George Clooney isn’t a stand-up comedian, but we can tell you he’s as funny as the best in the business. His closest buddies confess that his friendship comes with many perks, but you must make allowances for his dark side — he’s naughty by nature and that can be dangerous!

Amongst Clooney’s dearest friends is ‘Gotham’ star Richard Kind. Their bond is so close, Clooney even played best man at Kind’s wedding in 1999. Unfortunately, Kind is also amongst the victims of Clooney’s peculiar pranks. “I got a painting out of the garbage that someone was throwing away; it was on the side of the road, I picked it up and I took it home and I signed my name to it,” Clooney confesses with a chuckle, about a “horrible” piece of art that he gifted Kind on his fortieth birthday. “I said, ‘I’ve done a lot of paintings, but this is the first one my art teacher is really proud of.’ And he (Richard Kind) had to hang it… on the wall of his apartment,” Clooney continues.

So this huge, terrible painting of a naked woman hung in Kind’s home because Clooney insisted and Kind decided to be, well, kind. All the while, as the years rolled on, George enjoyed his prank privately!

If comedy is all about timing, Clooney certainly took his time — waiting many long years to put Kind out of his misery. “I left it for about six years before I told him,” Clooney adds, still laughing about the prank. Richard Kind, who had to live with the ugly artwork for that long, is unlikely to have found it as amusing.
