Farhan Akhtar surprises fans with a private performance

Farhan Akhtar

While fans and the media alike speculate about Farhan Akhtar’s love life (is he seeing Aditi Rao Hydari or Kalki Koechlin or someone else entirely?), the man in question is living la vida loca. And that is why we love him!

Last night — dressed down in a black tee and jeans (but looking gorgeous) — Farhan and a bunch of buddies decided to head to Radio Bar in suburban Mumbai for a night on the town. Hitesh Keswani (the establishment’s equally charming owner) played host, while Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, DJ Aqeel, Krishika Lulla and others settled in for a tipple. Perhaps it was the resto-bar’s laid back vibe or their foot-tapping music but, at some point, Farhan decided to grab a guitar and embark on an impromptu jam.

Belting out one brilliant track after another (some Hindi songs and some soft rock), Farhan sang for the better part of half an hour — with revellers at Radio Bar loving every minute of it. When you come in to glug a grog or nurse your single malt and end up being gifted what was practically a private performance by one of the country’s best-known stars, well, that’s got to count as a pretty memorable night!
