Exclusive: Filmmaker Farah Khan finds her pause in Kashmir

To some of us, a pause means some time alone; but not to Farah Khan. The filmmaker-choreographer finds herself away from home and family so often, she prefers her pause with husband Shirish Kunder and their three kids in tow.

Earlier this month, Farah and family flew into freezing Srinagar for a healthy dose of rest and relaxation — checking into a scenic suite at Dal View - Vivanta by Taj for a few days. Surrounded by the Zabarwan Mountains, with cool clouds floating past her private balcony, Farah and her folks could have stayed ensconced in their rooms but chose to explore Srinagar instead.

Whether the majestic Mughal Gardens made her ‘must visit’ list we cannot say, but the city’s acclaimed Ahdoo’s restaurant certainly did! Tucking into a hearty meal of Kashmiri and Mughlai specialties, Farah and Shirish romanced the pause in sumptuous style.

Hearts and stomachs satiated, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that they came away from the valley chanting: ‘If there is heaven on earth, it is here, it is here it is here.’
