5 Reasons Why You Should Watch Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos

Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos

The much-awaited musical adventure drama — Jagga Jasoos has finally hit the theatres. Written and directed by Anurag Basu of Barfi! fame, and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif the film has opened to mixed reviews. And while the film does falter and is even inspired heavily from the Tintin comic books, flaws aside, Jagga Jasoos is a visual treat, that is worth a dekho.

Here are top five reasons why you should watch Jagga Jasoos…

1) The Style

Ranbir Kapoor's Jagga Jasoos
Bollywood has not truly ever experimented with a typical Broadway style musical on celluloid and finally, Anurag Basu has skillfully brought that kind of musical extravaganza onscreen with his Jagga Jasoos. The film is beautifully choreographed as a Disney musical with a comic book touch to all its characters, which makes for an interesting watch.

2) Technicality

Jagga Jasoos is among those few Bollywood films which are technically suave and a good CGI. Each frame is well crafted and stunningly shot which adds to the visual experience. Kudos to cinematographer Ravi Varma for his brilliant camera work.

3) Sequences

The film is laden with memorable scenes which not only make you smile but also tug at your heartstrings, particularly the ones featuring Jagga (Ranbir Kapoor) with his foster father Badal Bagchi (Saswata Chatterjee). Director Anurag Basu compensates for all the flaws with these beautifully shot sequences.

4) Music

When you set out to make a musical, you need to have a fantastic background score to support your vision and Jagga Jasoos certainly aces in that department courtesy music maestro Pritam. Apart from the background score the film also has fun quirky numbers like Ullu Ka Pattha, Galti Se Mistake, Tukka Laga, Khana Khake and a soulful number like Phir Wahi, which further enhance the film.

5) Ranbir Kapoor
