5 Reasons To Watch Shraddha Kapoor & Aditya Roy Kapoor’s Ok Jaanu
Directed by Shaad Ali, Ok Jaanu is the official remake of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil romantic drama — O Kadhal Kanmani. While the film is not really extraordinary, the fluffy romantic comedy does have plenty of moments that make this ride worthwhile.
Here are five reasons why you should go ahead and watch Ok Jaanu.
Naseeruddin Shah’s Romantic Track
One can’t refute the fact that the man is a delight to watch on the screen. In Ok Jaanu, Naseer is portraying an endearing character — Gopi Shrivastav, whose wife Charulata (Leela Samson) is suffering from Alzheimer’s. As usual, Naseer is charming onscreen, but what really touches a chord in this film, is his beautiful bond with his wife Charu. Their romantic track is adorable and absolutely heart-warming.
Glimpses of Mumbai
Director Shaad Ali may not have gone full hog with his exploration of the live-in-relationship culture but the man has beautifully managed to capture the spirit of Mumbai in his films. Right from capturing the slowly diminishing iconic double-decker buses that ply on the city roads to the popular landmarks of Mumbai like Marine Drive, Gateway of India, Asiatic Library etc., the director has nicely brought the nuances of Mumbai onscreen in Ok Jaanu.
Simple Yet Heart-warming Story
Ok Jaanu is as predictable as it can get, however, the simple love story has many affable and heart-warming moments between its protagonists Adi (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and Tara (Shraddha Kapoor), which makes you smile and keep that smile intact till you walk out of the cinema hall.
A R Rahman’s Soundtrack
Music maestro A R Rahman is the man behind the music of the film. And the peppy, upbeat soundtrack is perfect to lift up your mood.
Shraddha Kapoor & Aditya Roy Kapoor
Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor bring back the magic they created in Aashiqui 2 with their crackling chemistry in Ok Jaanu as well. Aditya does a fine job of portraying the goofy video game developer — Adi, while Shraddha mesmerizes with her beauty and acting chops. Their chemistry is so good that you can’t help but fall in love with them.
